Elgie Demchuk
Elgie Demchuk is a senior professional with more than 35 years’ experience in human resources - 17 of those years in executive level positions. Elgie’s passion for people has contributed to her long career in human resources
Elgie has a deep caring for the seniors of Alberta. She believes continuing care staff have the potential to make a significant difference in the lives of our residents, and is focused on ways to move the organization forward in its mission to provide person-centred care with dignity and respect.
Elgie oversees the Human Resources, Safety and Claims and Education Services teams. She believes in partnerships and strong communication with all groups she works with. Her mantra is, “Is it the right thing to do?” She is also a director on the board of the Continuing Care Safety Association.
Outside of health care, Elgie has worked in a variety of settings – in both the private and public sector - including; high technology, petrochemical, retail grocery, post- secondary education and the Government of Alberta.
Elgie was born in small town Alberta and raised in Edmonton. She attended the University of Alberta to obtain her certification in Personnel Administration.
