Adult Day Support Programs

Last Updated July 22, 2021, at 5:00 pm

In-person day programs are opening this month.  Since March 2020, CapitalCare day programs have been meeting client and caregiver needs with virtual programming, including Zoom programs, connecting by telephone, wellness checks, and activity packages. Many day program staff were also redeployed to support centre response to COVID-19.

In-person services will be resuming or increasing, with some programs continuing to deliver virtual programming or other alternative options to clients who choose not to attend day programs in-person.

Adult Day Support Programs provide wellness services for individuals who live in the community and require a structured support program. Day programs provide social interaction, promote the individual's independence and provide respite for their caregivers.

Programming includes:

  • recreational activities
  • meals and snacks
  • family and client education and support
  • reminders to take prescribed medications
