BIOGRAPHY

Bonnie Roberts, R.D., BSc.

Bonnie is a registered dietitian with over 25 years’ experience in the Alberta continuing care sector and a passion for person-centred care.
She started her career as a volunteer in a small hospital in rural Alberta.  From that valuable experience to working in the dietary department, Bonnie has grown her career into senior leadership roles focused on quality improvement.
Bonnie joined CapitalCare in 1996 as a food services manager and was involved in a reorganization of three services - food, laundry and housekeeping – into one department which she led as support services manager. In 2009, she had the opportunity to work with Alberta Health as a quality improvement consultant to six long-term care sites. Her area of expertise is in the use of electronic assessment and monitoring tools, such as RAI-MDS 2.0, to improve resident care. She went on to manage Laurier House Lynnwood – developing skills in nursing leadership – and became site director of CapitalCare Lynnwood in 2016. She strives to continually empower staff so they can fully embrace person-centered care.
Bonnie is born and raised in the Edmonton area. She has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, is an active member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders, and volunteers for the College of Dietitians of Alberta.
